Description
Embedding RFID tags in items we always carry with us leads to concerns
about the privacy of the person carrying them. We have built a
demonstrator to show how RFID technology can violate a person's
privacy. The demonstrator performs the following functionality. If a
tag is placed onto the reader, the UID is scanned. In case the UID was
not recorded before, a picture is taken of the person who stands in
front of the webcam. From then on, this picture is associated with the
UID. At a later stage, if the tag with the same UID is placed onto the
reader, the picture is shown back to the user. This shows that the
movements of users of an RFID system can be traced by their RFID tags.
